• Abstract: One side soil and water raises one side person, one side landscape has one side amorous feelings. Hubei is located in the hinterland of China, where the great rivers converge and travel from north to south. Jingchu has a long history and is known for its magnificent and romantic culture. This paper expounds the evolution process of Hubei modern and contemporary fine arts and the reasons for the formation of Jingchu culture, analyzes the inevitable influence of the all-embracing and pioneering Jingchu Cultural ecosphere on the inheritance of modern and contemporary Hubei fine arts, and tries to explore the correlation between the formation of the characteristics of modern and contemporary Hubei fine arts and the inheritance of Jingchu Cultural ecosphere. 一方水土养一方人，一方山水有一方风情。地处中国腹地的湖北，大江交汇、南北通途，荆楚历史源远流长，素以瑰丽浪漫著称的荆楚文化奇绝一方。本文阐述了湖北现当代美术的演变历程及其形成的荆楚文化生态圈，解析了兼收并蓄、敢为人先的荆楚文化生态系统对于现当代湖北美术传承中的必然性影响，力图探究现当代湖北美术特质的形成与荆楚文化生态传承的关联性。
