  • Abstract: This paper takes the Applied Chemistry program at Chongqing University of Science and Technology as an example to discuss the revision and innovation of undergraduate talent cultivation programs in the context of the rise of artificial intelligence. By investigating and comparing the program development experiences of leading domestic universities, and considering the history and characteristics of the university’s own program, this study systematically summarizes the achievements and shortcomings of the current cultivation program. Based on this analysis, we put forward the reform ideas and characteristic measures of the new program. The updated program emphasizes enhancing students’ ability to solve complex engineering problems as its core objective. It closely aligns with new trends in the chemical industry, such as smart and green technologies, aiming to build a high-quality applied talent cultivation system that meets the demands of the new era.
