- Abstract: One of the fundamental aspects of smart grid is smart substation, which is based on digital substation. This paper first introduces the definition and design principles of intelligent substation, on the basis of which the architecture of intelligent substation and the main functions of each level are described in a more comprehensive way, and its future application is prospected. 智能电网一大基础性环节就是智能变电站，而智能变电站是以数字化 变电站为基础的。本文首先介绍了智能变电站的定义及设计原则，在此基础之 上较为全面的阐述了智能变电站体系结构及各层次的主要功能，并对其今后的 应用进行了展望。
