Abstract:
In the past decade, American journalism studies have shown a better global perspective
in space, but there are also spatial biases centering on the United States and Europe, quantification
centered approaches and classical functionalism centered themes. On the one hand, the global
perspective in space is the positive response to the globalization trend. On the other hand, many biases
in journalism research in the United States reflect its rejection of the pluralistic journalistic professional
outlook, values and functional outlook bred under different institutional and cultural backgrounds.
