从翻译美学角度评析《桃花源记》的四个译本

- Abstract: Tao Yuanming’s Tao Hua Yuan Ji, as one of the classics of ancient Chinese literature, has been translated into English by translators at home and abroad, which helps to promote Chinese culture to the world. The article mainly focuses on analyzing four translations of Tao Hua Yuan Ji from the perspective of translation aesthetics. Comparisons are made in five aspects: sound, diction, sentence, passage and imagery. Then based on the original translations, several improvements are made. In the end, the strengths and the weaknesses of these translations are briefly summarized, and a conclusion is made on what translators should do when translating ancient Chinese articles in order to make the translation full of beauty. 陶渊明的《桃花源记》是中国古代经典文学作品之一。现在已有不少 国内外翻译大家将它译成英文，促进中国文化走向世界。本文主要选取林语堂、 杨宪益、Hightower James、Rick Davis 和Davis Steelman 的译本，根据刘宓庆的 翻译美学理论，从表及里，由浅入深，从语音、词句、篇章、意象四个层面对《桃 花源记》的四篇译文做出分析与评价。同时在原译文的基础上，对部分译文进 行改进。最后，简要概括四篇译文的优缺点，总结译者在翻译过程中再现原文 之美的翻译方法。
