• Abstract: Northwest Guizhou is a multi-ethnic settlement with a rich tradition of sports, unique in its functionality and cultural significance. However, the field survey revealed that the traditional sports of ethnic minorities in Northwest Guizhou currently face several challenges, including a decline in motivation, evidenced by a diminution in inheritance consciousness, inadequate reserve talents, primarily due to a shortage of instructors, a single form of publicity that hinders external dissemination, and the intense competition from modern sports, which has led to a diminution in enthusiasm for participation. In order to meet the opportunities of the new era and the new cultural mission, specific high-quality development strategies are proposed. Firstly, education and guidance are to be made the centre to stimulate the inheritance of vitality. Secondly, teachers are to be made the centre to strengthen the construction of reserve talents. Thirdly, diversified publicity platforms are to be made the core to expand the influence. Finally, content-based, with the modern initiative, is to be used to enhance the competitive nature of the convergence. 黔西北是一个多民族聚居地，深植着丰富的少数民族传统体育文化，其功能价值独特、文化内涵丰富。然而，通过田野调查发现，黔西北少数民族传统体育目前主要存在传承意识淡化反映动力不足、师资力量稀缺反映后备人才不足、宣传单一影响对外传播、现代体育的热度冲击参与激情等困境。为迎合新时代机遇和新文化使命，特提出具体的高质量发展策略：一是以教育与引导为中心，激发传承活力；二是以师资力量为中心，加强后备人才队伍建设；三是以多元宣传平台为核心，扩大影响力；四是以内容为核心，主动与现代体育接轨，提升竞技性。
