• Abstract: The global outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic has hadprofound implications on international relations and regional dynamics.During this period, China successfully combated the pandemic and achievedremarkable results despite the prevailing economic challenges worldwide,garnering significant international attention. This paper, using the COVID-19pandemic as a starting point, seeks to provide insights into the portrayal ofChina’s economic image by analyzing relevant reports from the Australiannewspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” from January 2020 to March 2021.The aim is to offer insights that may contribute to enhancing China’s externalcommunication efforts. 新型冠状病毒肺炎在全球范围内的流行对国际关系和地区局势产生深远影响。期间，中国成功抗击疫情并在全球经济形势普遍严峻的情况下，逆流而上，取得无出其右的成果，在世界范围内获得极高的舆论关注度。本文以新冠疫情为切入点，通过整理和分析澳大利亚《悉尼先驱晨报》2020年1月至2021年3月的相关报道，聚焦报道呈现出的中国经济形象，以期对促进中国对外传播提供参考。
