Abstract:
From the perspective of the everyday-life turn in folklore studies, this paper takes Japan-related life Vlogs on Douyin as its research object and examines their content types, narrative features, and folkloric significance. Based on coding analysis and semi- structured interviews, the study finds that these Vlogs present everyday life through visual records, cross-cultural experience, multimodal sound, and platform interaction. As a form of internet folklore, Japanrelated life Vlogs expand the boundaries of folk groups, folk practices, and fieldwork space in contemporary folklore studies.
