英语方言汉译探析——以《杀死一只知更鸟》汉译本为例

• 摘要： 作为文学作品不可或缺的一部分，方言不仅能营造氛围，刻画人物形象，还能带来极大的“落差效果”。本文以《杀死一只知更鸟》为例，聚焦尤厄尔一家的多种方言表达方式，分析了李育超译本中方言汉译的功能还原与功能缺失。在此基础上，为实现原著与译文方言效果对等，提出了地域方言对译、口语化和雅俗对比三种方言汉译方法，并尝试为原作中部分方言提供参考译文。
• As an essential part of literary work, dialects can not only create atmosphere and make characters more vivid, but also bring about a great ‘gap’ in language. By case study on To Kill a Mockingbird, this paper focuses on the various dialectal expressions of the Ewell family from the novel and analyzes the restoration and miss of dialectal functions of Li Yuchao’s Chinese translation. On this basis, to reproduce the dialectal effect of the source text in the target text, this paper proposes three translation methods of English dialects, including translating with an ‘equivalent’ dialect in the target language, colloquialization and gap reproducing. The paper also attempts to provide reference translations for some dialects of the novel.
