  • Abstract: Private higher education institutions in Hainan Province serve as a crucial supplement to the higher education system, and their development quality is closely intertwined with the caliber of their teaching faculty, particularly the professional growth of young teachers. As the backbone of teaching, research, and service in private colleges, the professional advancement of young teachers directly influences the institutions’ core competitiveness and sustainable development. However, these teachers currently face multiple challenges in their professional development, including individual-level obstacles and constraints imposed by the external environment and regional conditions. This paper aims to systematically examine the underlying causes and specific manifestations of these challenges. Based on this analysis, it seeks to construct an integrated pathway tailored to Hainan’s realities, highlighting the distinctive characteristics of private education while promoting the comprehensive and sustainable development of young teachers. This will be approached from multiple dimensions, including reshaping development concepts, stimulating teachers’ initiative, and mobilizing external resources. The goal is to provide theoretical insights and practical guidance for strengthening the teaching workforce in private colleges and enhancing the quality of regional higher education. 海南省民办高校作为高等教育体系的重要补充,其发展质量与教师队伍素质,尤其是青年教师的专业发展水平密切相关。青年教师是民办高校教学、科研与服务的生力军,其专业成长直接关系到学校的核心竞争力与可持续发展。然而,当前海南省民办高校青年教师在专业发展过程中,面临教师个体层面的发展障碍、外部环境与区域条件的限制等多重困境。本文旨在系统审视这些困境的生成逻辑与具体表现,并在此基础上,从重构发展理念、激发教师主体意识、汇聚外部资源等多个维度,探索构建一条符合海南实际、彰显民办特色、促进青年教师全面可持续发展的整合性路径,以期为民办高校师资队伍建设及区域高等教育质量提升提供理论参考与实践启示。
