• Abstract: Core competencies play a leading role in English curriculum and represent the concentrated embodiment of its educational value. The integration of information technology and instruction has become an inevitable trend in the development of future English teaching models and an effective means of cultivating core competencies. This paper mainly discusses the significance of the deep integration of information technology and English teaching, and, taking a junior high school English reading lesson as a case study, explores the strategies for the deep integration of information technology and junior high school English reading instruction from four dimensions: language competence, cultural awareness, thinking quality, and learning ability. 核心素养在英语课程中发挥着统领作用，是课程育人价值的集中体现。信息技术与教学的融合，已经成为未来英语教学模式发展的必然趋势，也是培育核心素养的有效手段。本文主要论述了信息技术与英语教学深度融合的意义，并以一节初中英语阅读课为案例，从语言能力、文化意识、思维品质和学习能力四个方面，探究了信息技术与初中英语阅读教学深度融合的策略。
