政府工作报告英译主语选择机制研究——以 2020 年《政府工作报告》为例

• 摘要： 通过定量统计和定性分析相结合的研究方法，以2020年政府工作报告英汉句子对齐平行文本为研究对象，探讨了汉语无主句英译主语选择机制与动因，发现无主句主语英译选择的可选项包括We、原句宾语、Efforts等抽象名词、China、形式主语It/There等，人称代词复数We及原句宾语具有绝对选择偏好。研究表明，表达/交际需求是主语选择机制的关键，判定是否具有客观表达需求是英译主语选择选择的核心。
• Subject serves as the starting point of an utterance as well as information transmission. The identification and translation of the subject plays a significant role in the Chinese-English Translation. The present paper explores the mechanism of subject choice as well as its motivation based on the comparative parallel text of the Work of the Government Report in 2020. The combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis finds that communication needs enjoys the priority and whether objectivity is required determines the appropriate choice of the subject in English translation.
