再论“功能对等”中的“对等”一译
On Chinese Translation of “Equivalence”in “Functional Equivalence”

- Abstract: Nida’s theory of Functional Equivalence has made a a great contribution to the field of translation studies in China, but whether its core concept “equivalence” should be translated into “ 对等” is still controversial. By comparing several typical translations of this concept, combing representative theorists’ interpretations of it, and analyzing the value of the Functional Equivalence theory, this paper argues that nothing is wrong with the translation of “equivalence” into “ 对等”，and it would not prevent us from correctly understanding the theory or applying it into the practice of translation. 奈达的功能对等（Functional Equivalence）理论对我国翻译界影响很大，但其核心概念“equivalence”是否应该译成“对等”仍存在争议。通过对比该概念的几种常见译法、梳理主要理论家对概念内涵的阐释，剖析功能对等理论的应用价值，认为“equivalence”译为“对等”并无太大问题，并不影响我们对功能对等理论的正确理解并将其运用到我们的翻译实践中去。
