Abstract:
As online socializing becomes an important part of college students’ lives, the online social behaviors of college students from families with financial difficulties show uniqueness due to the particularity of this group, and have complex impacts on their mental health. This group has psychological contradictions such as the coexistence of selfesteem and inferiority, tends to have anxiety and depression, and faces psychological characteristics like interpersonal communication barriers. Online socializing has a dual impact on the mental health of this group: it not only provides emotional support, reduces social costs, brings psychological compensation and helps improve abilities; but also may lead to internet addiction, intensify withdrawal from real-world social interactions, induce psychological imbalance, and bring risks of privacy anxiety and cyberbullying. Based on this, it is necessary to construct a collaborative intervention strategy from the social, school, family and individual levels to promote the mental health development of college students from families with financial difficulties.
