  • Abstract: With the intensification of competition in higher education, university faculty and staff are facing increasing research pressure, teaching workloads, and career development anxiety. Mental health services have become an essential support for ensuring the stability of the faculty and staff. As a bridge connecting the faculty and staff, the Labor Union of Wuhan University possesses unique organizational advantages and an emotional foundation in providing mental health services. This paper takes the Labor Union of Wuhan University as a case study, analyzing its threefold roles as an “advocate,” “coordinator,” and “servant” in mental health services. It summarizes the practical experience of its “prevention-intervention-support” comprehensive service model, proposes pathways for efficacy optimization, and provides references for improving the quality of mental health services offered by university labor unions.
