  • Abstract: In the new era of education, the principle of “five-education integration” is adhered to, aiming to cultivate well-rounded talents. The college years represent a crucial stage in early adulthood, during which college students encounter multiple challenges. Their sense of happiness serves as a significant indicator of educational effectiveness. This study explores the impact of nature connection on the happiness of college students and, based on the “five senses” theory, integrates nature connection and a sense of life meaning into horticultural therapy to design an intervention program, providing new ideas for mental health work in colleges and universities. Study One employed a questionnaire survey method, with 1,050 freshmen from Dali University as participants. The Nature Connectedness Scale, the Chinese Life Meaning Questionnaire, and the General Well-being Schedule were used to analyze the relationships among the three. Study Two adopted a pretest-posttest control quasi-experimental design. Forty students with low happiness levels were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received six sessions of horticultural therapy intervention, while the control group received no intervention. The effects were evaluated using scales, feedback forms, and diaries. The results revealed that: (1) Nature connection and a sense of life meaning were significantly positively correlated with happiness; (2) Nature connection significantly positively predicted happiness; (3) A sense of life meaning significantly positively predicted happiness; (4) Horticultural therapy centered on nature connection and a sense of life meaning effectively alleviated the depressive mood of college students and had a sustained effect. Conclusion: Nature connection and a sense of life meaning have a significant negative predictive effect on depressive mood. The designed horticultural therapy program effectively alleviated the depressive mood of college students. Colleges and universities should strengthen “nature education” and “life education” to enhance students’ mental health levels. 新时代教育坚持“五育并举”,培养全面发展的人才。大学时期是成年早期关键阶段,大学生面临多重挑战,其幸福感是衡量教育成效的重要指标。本研究探讨自然联结对大学生幸福感的影响,并基于“五感”理论,将自然联结和生命意义感融入园艺疗法,设计干预方案,为高校心理健康工作提供新思路。研究一采用问卷调查法,以大理大学1050名大一新生为被试,使用自然联结量表、中文人生意义问卷和总体幸福感量表,分析三者关系。研究二采用前后测对照准实验设计,筛选40名低幸福感学生随机分为实验组和对照组,实验组接受6次园艺疗法干预,对照组无干预,用量表和反馈表、日志评估效果。结果发现:(1)自然联结、生命意义感与幸福感显著正相关;(2)自然联结显著正向预测幸福感;(3)生命意义感显著正向预测幸福感;(4)以自然联结和生命意义感为主题的园艺疗法能有效改善大学生抑郁情绪,且具有持续效应。结论:自然联结和生命意义感对抑郁情绪有显著负向预测作用,设计的园艺疗法方案可能有效缓解了大学生抑郁情绪。高校应加强“自然教育”与“生命教育”,提升学生心理健康水平。
