• Abstract: Xie Lin, a native of Jianzhou, obtained his Jinshi degree in the fourth year of the Jiayou reign. His entire official career was spent in local administration, where he served successively in various regions across the southeast, southwest, and northeast of the Northern Song territory. As a governor of local areas, he participated in ethnic governance in several prefectures, particularly in the Xidong region of Southwest China. Among his postings, he served in the Jinghu area for approximately twenty years, playing a pivotal role in the governance of Yuanzhou, Tanzhou, Chenzhou, and other prefectures. Furthermore, Xie Lin’s transfers and promotions reflected the policy adjustments of the Northern Song court in different periods. He eventually passed away while holding office in Guizhou (present-day Guilin, Guangxi) of the Guangnan region. 谢麟，建州人，嘉祐四年进士。其整个仕途都在地方任上，辗转宋境东南、西南、东北各地，主政一方，参与了数州的民族治理，尤其是西南溪峒地区。其中在荆湖地区任职二十年左右，在沅州、潭州、辰州等地的治理中发挥了重要的作用。此外，谢氏的迁转也是不同时期宋廷政策调整的反映，最终病故于广南桂州任上。
