Abstract:
With the rise of the wave of migrant workers, countless children from families are forced to be separated from their parents and become left-behind children. Left-behind children face the dual challenges of growth and education. Although parents’ migrant work can help families increase their income and increase investment in left-behind children’s education, long-term parent-child separation still has many adverse effects on left-behind children, even extending into adulthood. The study adheres to the principles of purposive and convenient sampling, adopts a narrative research paradigm, and mainly uses self-narrative and in-depth interviews to collect the growth experience of individual cases. It explores the left-behind life world of a rural college student, deeply describes the important life events he experienced and their complex impact on personal growth, sorts out his subjective experience, life turning point, and self-growth in the left-behind situation, explores the profound impact of left-behind experience on individuals, and provides reference and inspiration for similar experience providers.
