• Abstract: College students in the new era, as the hope of the nation and the future of the motherland, are extremely valuable talent resources for the country. They shoulder the historical mission of comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society and bravely realizing the Chinese Dream. However, influenced by the profound changes in the current international and domestic situation, the education of ideals and beliefs for college students is facing both favorable conditions and severe challenges. “Model of the times” is an advanced person with strong progressiveness, representative, epochal and typical characteristics, a banner of the Party and a spiritual symbol of the country. In the context of “great ideological and political education”, integrating the spirit of “role models of the times” into the education of ideal beliefs for college students in the new era can not only strengthen the education of ideal beliefs for college students in the new era, but also add new elements to the course of ideological and political education. 新时代的大学生，作为民族的希望、祖国的未来，是国家极为宝贵的人才资源，肩负着全面建设小康社会、勇于实现中国梦的历史使命。然而，受当前国际国内形势深刻变化的影响，大学生理想信念教育既面临有利条件，也面临严峻挑战。“时代楷模”是具有强烈先进性、代表性、时代性和典型性的先进人物，是党的一面旗帜，是国家的一个精神标志。在“大思政”的背景下，将“时代楷模”精神融入新时代大学生理想信念教育，不仅能加强新时代大学生理想信念教育，还能为思想政治教育这门课程增添新的元素。
