• Abstract: The literature review is an indispensable component of scientific research papers, and its value to writers is self-evident. However, studies on citations — the soul of the literature review — remain far from sufficient. This paper analyzes the literature reviews of ten scientific research papers in the engineering field, with a focus on one of the more complex types of rhetorical functions: links between sources. The results show that experienced expert writers are able to appropriately apply different types of links between sources, including multi-source generalization, coordinate, progressive, causal, and part-whole relations. In terms of linguistic expression, they also flexibly employ various means to present different logical relationships, such as lexical, grammatical, and other explicit and implicit discourse cohesion devices. The findings of this study provide insights for English for Academic Purposes (EAP) teaching. 文献综述是科研论文不可或缺的组成部分，其重要价值对写作者而言不言而喻。然而，作为文献综述灵魂的文献引证，文献引证的相关研究仍远远不足。本文对工科领域10篇科研论文的文献综述进行分析，重点聚焦于引证修辞功能中较为复杂的一类——文献关联。结果表明，有经验的专家作者能够恰当运用具有不同逻辑关系的文献关联形式，包括多源概括、并列关系、递进关系、因果关系及总分关系等。在语言表达上，他们也能灵活运用多种手段呈现不同的逻辑关系，如词汇手段、语法手段，以及其他显性和隐性的篇章连贯手段。本文的研究发现将为学术英语教学提供启示，具有一定的实践意义。
