Abstract:
Against the backdrop of the full-scale popularization of the Internet and the younger age of primary school students’ Internet usage, online behavior has become a significant factor influencing the mental health development of primary school students. To explore the specific impact of online behavior on the mental health of primary school students and the regulatory and intervention role of aesthetic education in this process, this study takes primary school students as the research subjects and employs literature review, questionnaire survey, and empirical analysis methods to systematically analyze the positive and negative effects of the duration of Internet use, content preferences, and behavioral habits on their emotional state, social skills, self-perception, and psychological adaptability. The research findings indicate that excessive Internet use and exposure to inappropriate online content can may contribute to psychological problems such as anxiety, loneliness, distraction, and withdrawal from real-life social interactions among primary school students. Meanwhile, aesthetic education can effectively mitigate the negative psychological impacts brought about by online behavior through emotional cultivation, aesthetic development, and artistic practice, thereby enhancing students’ emotional regulation abilities and psychological resilience. Based on these findings, this study constructs a collaborative aesthetic education intervention path involving schools, families, and society, providing practical references for alleviating the psychological issues of primary school students related to the Internet and promoting their mental health development. This research enriches the cross-disciplinary achievements in the field of primary school students’ mental health and aesthetic education, and also offers theoretical support and practical ideas for children’s psychological education in the context of the five-education integration in the new era.
